Experimental platform
SFX instrument: DAPHNIS

Diverse application platform for hard X-ray diffraction in SACLA (DAPHNIS) is available to perform serial femtosecond crystallography (SFX). DAPHNIS consists of a helium chamber, a sample injector and an MPCCD detector with eight sensor modules. Sample crystals dispersed in a fluid carrier are delivered with the injector and interact with a focused XFEL beam. Diffraction patterns of crystals are recorded in a pulse-by-pulse manner. DAPHNIS is also capable of pump-and-probe measurement with optical lasers. Three kinds of standard injectors are available to deliver crystals in a liquid jet, a highly viscous carrier, and droplet. Users can utilize suitable ones for their samples. Also, users can bring their own injectors and attach to DAPHNIS to perform experiments.
