We are happy to announce that the next annual SACLA Users’ Meeting will be held on March 2 and 3, 2022. We will use a “virtual-only” format again this year after the success of the last meeting.
This annual conference provides unique opportunities for our user community to learn about SACLA’s new capabilities, promote networking among the community, and discuss future research. This meeting also allows the SACLA team to receive constructive feedback from the users on the direction for upgrades to the facility. The virtual format will allow even more SACLA users from all over the world to join the meeting.
Since launching user operations ten years ago, in March 2012, SACLA has regularly expanded its research capabilities and opportunities for users. Today, two hard X-ray beamlines (BL2 & BL3) and one soft X-ray beamline (BL1) are operated for user research simultaneously. The facility and the user community have continued to work closely together to expand research capabilities by developing and upgrading experimental instruments and technologies. The facility will present an overview of recently completed improvements and the strategic plans for the future in the opening session of the meeting. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn the ongoing projects for instrument developments under the SACLA Basic Development Program 2021.
Outstanding invited talks will introduce the overview of the latest research activities using XFELs in selected research areas. Breakout sessions will offer valuable opportunities for scientific discussion, insight sharing, and network establishment for maximizing scientific activities. In these sessions, users and facility scientists will consider how to promote growth in scientific outcomes at SACLA while satisfying users’ requests.
Remarkable achievements over the last ten years are outcomes of the close collaboration between the facility and the user community. Your input during the meeting is essential for supporting continuous progress in scientific research at SACLA.
